PicMove is a latest Windows application for transferring pictures and even for backing them up easily with no hassle.
PicMove allows you to select source and target directory and transfer pictures of all known camera models into target directory, so that it will create subdirectories based on picture's exif date or file date. Also with this software you can transfer your RAW pictures, so that it will transfer all your RAW pics under a seperate subdirectory. This way you have your JPG pictures seperated from RAW pictures.
PicMove also has a quick function called QuickMove. This additional feature will start transferring files with one single click from desktop icon. Previous run's settings are used: source dir, target dir, overwite option, delete after transfer and raw seperation.
Also with PicMove, there is a unique feature not found on any other freeware applications: PicMove will create backup directories into yoru hard-drive, and copies all source pictures into this backup directory, while creating as many as sub-directories it takes for the media to successfully backup the pictures.
Example:
If you enter media size as 720 and prefix as CD, PicMove's backup feature will copy pics into CD1 until 720 MB of pictures is copied. Then PicMove will create a new directory called CD2, etc... The recursive directory structure under these backup directories are the same as in your source directory.
All picture transferring and backups in PicMove are recursive, meaning that also all subdirectories and their subdirectories will be included for transfer.
PicMove also features extensive logging, enabling you to see what files where tranferred or backed up. Also with PicMove you can have a look at your pictures, displaying over-blown pixels with blinking colors.
