Last week a got a chance to put some strobism techniques into practice as I got a request to take some executive portraits of a CEO of Touring Cars, a local camping car sales company.
I took my 430EXII strobe and white transluscent umbrella with me. The lighting was not as big of a challenge as taking portraits of a CEO that was stressed to be in front of the camera.
I used SM Development's FlashWaves radio set to trigger the flash. The power of the flash was set between 1/4 and 1/8 power. Shutter speed was kept low in order to let ambient light take as much charge as possible, using flash to only fill-in the shadows or to make them.
Before the photo shoot I knew that I wanted to spice the executive portraits with something of company's own things, such as logos and colors.
